“Like a submerged hidden treasure…”. This is how the coral reefs of the Amazon were discovered by scientists in 2016. The news that the current Brazilian government and oil companies were eying this unique and still mysterious biome as a drilling and oil extraction site was so shocking, that it was from this hot topic that the starting point for the creation of the Isolda 2019 summer collection emerged – not only inspired by this environmental jewel, but also as a manifestation to protect the Amazon’s corals.
The tropicality is present in the cashew prints, a signature of the brand, that appear in dazzling long skirts and pareus. The mood is strengthened with jaguars surrounded by foliage of the Amazon rainforest and indigenous wickerwork. Vibrant fuchsias and non-obvious florals add a touch of exuberance to the collection, an intrinsic characteristic to the Isolda DNA.
The collection also features black panthers in the rainforest which was dubbed “Jungle Night”- which, as the name suggests, is perfect for summer nights with kimonos, pareus, and versatile items. The water colored polka-dots, also in a black background, are an allusion to the pearls in the adorned frilly dresses.
For more casual occasions, Isolda invests in the “Minimal” line: silk and satin shirts with laces and frills, pants and tops with strategic details in colors that range from champagne to coral. Cotton pieces dyed with blue denim – short overalls, midi skirts and bulky sleeve shirts – promise to be a hit.
